Job Description

NY Enrichment Group is seeking several reliable, self-motivated, independent, fun-loving, part-time youth STEP Dance Instructors to join our team. The successful candidates will support students while fostering their desire for movement, choreography, and physical activity. Instructors must adopt a creative, fun, and energetic learning approach while promoting respect, teamwork, and passion. They will model and inspire a love of dance to help students succeed in their passions. Enthusiasm, professionalism, a strong community commitment, and the ability to motivate and educate are essential.

Duties include:

• Leading dance classes for youth aged 7-10.
• Facilitating classes following a social group work model.
• Managing a classroom of 15-20 students.
• Preparing for classes: arriving 15 minutes early.
• Cleaning up: leaving locations in good condition.
• Building positive relationships with staff and students.
• Following up after classes with the NYEG Director of Operations.
• Maintaining a positive, safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.

Requirements:

• Highly responsible, reliable, punctual, flexible, honest, self-motivated, and working with integrity. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working with children and leading classes independently. Good communication skills, positive attitude, and classroom management abilities.
• Relevant performance experience.

Preferred but not necessary:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 2 years of experience working with youth.
• Teaching and classroom management experience.
• Knowledge of and willingness to teach various dance styles.

• 3:45 pm - 5:15 pm
• Brooklyn, NY
