We are seeking a Basketball Assistant Instructor for our afterschool program! This is a great opportunity to combine your passion for working with Kindergarten - 5th Grade students while gaining experience at one of the most premier public schools in the nation. We are looking for individuals who are engaging and can foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development in a fun and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assists the lead basketball instructor in running structured and engaging basketball sessions
- Helps students develop fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork
- Actively engages with and motivates students during class time, drills, and scrimmages
- Encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline in a fun and supportive way
- Works closely with staff to manage student participation and behavioral expectations
- Ensures students follow safety guidelines and use equipment properly
- Uses company-wide digital platforms to perform administrative tasks (e.g., taking attendance, submitting incident reports, etc.)
- Maintains and promotes student organization of equipment and supplies
- Communicates effectively with management regarding student and program-related matters
- Fosters a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment
This is you:
- Experience working with students, preferably elementary age
- Enthusiasm for sports, fitness, and basketball
- Ability to clearly communicate rules and expectations to students
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Punctuality and reliability are a must!
- Professional and positive attitude
- Ability to work with a team in a school environment
The Schedule:
- Days: Mondays & Fridays (part-time availability)
- Time: 2:40 PM - 5:40 PM (broken into two sessions: 2:40 PM - 4:20 PM & 4:20 PM - 5:40 PM)
- Start Date: Immediate start available

Requirements
- Experience working with children, preferably elementary age
- Enthusiasm for sports and fitness, with basketball knowledge preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a lead instructor and program staff
- Punctuality and reliability are essential
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience coaching or assisting in youth sports programs
- Background in physical education, coaching, or child development is a plus
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required)
