POSITION SUMMARY:
Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students' performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops daily lesson plans for that provide for differentiation and ongoing assessment.
Creates a positive classroom environment which supports engaged student learning.
Implements standards-based instruction.
Explains and demonstrates techniques and methods of regulating movements of body to musical or rhythmic accompaniment.
Drills pupils in execution of dance steps.
Teaches history of dance, theory and practice of dance notation, and may choreograph and direct dance performance.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
Makes recommendations and/or decisions which usually affect the entire school.
Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC.
Normal classroom/school setting.
Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven (7) to seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less.
