Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) seeks a Dance/Movement Therapist to join the Creative Forces Network at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence, WRNMMC, in Bethesda, MD.

The role implements and evaluates dance/movement therapy programs for Service Members, Veterans, and families, delivered in person and via telehealth. The successful candidate collaborates with patients, families, and hospital staff, documents interventions, and helps integrate

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in dance/movement therapy (ADTA-accredited)
• Minimum of two years of relevant clinical internship or work experience
• Experience with military-connected patients exposed to trauma preferred
• Dance/Movement Therapist licensure: RDMT or BC-DMT per DMTCB requirements

Responsibilities

• Works with patients, families, and staff to understand patient needs from a creative therapy perspective and develops goals and plans.
• Develops a vision and sets goals and priorities for the leadership.
• Documents interventions in patient records according to art therapy documentation standards.
• Develops materials to explain and promote the program.
• Designs measures to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Maintains an age-appropriate and safe selection of art supplies and materials.
• Collaborates with hospital staff to address patient or systemic problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including required trainings.
