Job summary

Skagit Valley Family YMCA Mount Vernon, WA is seeking a creative Dance Instructor to lead Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Creative Dance for teens to active older adults. You will design 12-week sessions, guide youth programs, and choreograph a 2-minute finale for the season’s end.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• CPR/AED and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications (or willingness to obtain) required/willing.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to connect with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide a fun, uplifting, and safe atmosphere for all dancers.
• Build an inclusive environment where every participant feels supported.
• Use music, props, and teaching tools to spark creativity.
• Deliver progressive, skill-building lessons for student growth.
• Choreograph a 2-minute routine for the final performance.
• Encourage lifelong participation in movement and physical activity.
