Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer – Dam Safety & Monitoring to support the Water business line in Orange, CA. The successful candidate will work on dam safety projects involving the design, installation, and monitoring of instrumentation systems to ensure structural integrity and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a degree in Civil, Electrical or Geotechnical Engineering with 4+ years of dam safety or geotechnical monitoring experience, US citizenship, and the ability to work in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical and/or Geotechnical Engineering with 4+ years in dam safety or geotechnical monitoring or equivalent.
• US Citizenship required.
• Geotechnical dam design and construction oversight experience.
• Experience with ADAS, SCADA and telemetry systems.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• 8+ years in dam safety, instrumentation, or geotechnical monitoring.
• No sponsorship or relocation available.

Responsibilities

• Perform portions of assignments under supervision from a senior engineer.
• Gather and correlate engineering data using defined procedures.
• Design and implement instrumentation systems and telemetry for dams and levees.
• Conduct field inspections, calibrations, and troubleshoot monitoring equipment.
• Analyze data to assess dam performance and risks; prepare technical reports.
