Job summary

Abhe & Svoboda, Inc. seeks a licensed Structural Engineer/Project Manager (P.E.) to lead on-site activities for a USACE dam gate repair project in Spiro, OK.

The role combines project management with structural authority to direct field execution and ensure compliance with contract documents and dam safety standards. Ideal candidates have a PE license, a structural/Civil degree, and 5+ years of related experience on heavy civil or hydraulic structures, with strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Active Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Minimum 5+ years of structural engineering and construction experience.
• Experience with heavy civil or hydraulic structures.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings, calculations, and contracts.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making in high-risk environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site representative for the USACE dam gate repair project from mobilization through closeout.
• Manage daily construction activities related to structural repairs and installation of hydraulic steel structures.
• Coordinate specialty subcontractors, inspectors, divers, rigging crews, and crane operations.
• Plan work sequencing around reservoir levels, gate operations, and outage windows.
• Lead site meetings and communicate with USACE stakeholders and QA staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
• Provide stamped structural engineering decisions and calculations as needed.
