Job summary

Occidental Chemical Corporation (OxyChem) in Dallas, TX invites students to join its Summer Internship Program in Supply Chain. You will participate in Purchasing, Logistics, and Customer Supply Chain Services projects designed to develop future leaders.

The internship emphasizes hands-on exposure to procurement, freight optimization, and order fulfillment within a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, or related field.
Junior standing with graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
Minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Responsibilities

Support purchasing projects to drive process improvements, reduce costs and leverage supplier relationships.
Assist in development, analysis, and implementation of sourcing strategies for critical goods, materials and services.
Coordinate the preparation of formal requests for proposals and evaluate bids.
Collaborate with key suppliers and facilitate problem resolution.
Drive assigned purchasing initiatives and process improvements.
Analyze and provide recommendations on freight modes to minimize delivered costs.
Develop utilization models for rail car usage.
Review daily rail or truck operations and advise on-time and safe movement of shipments.
Analyze and provide recommendations on order fulfillment, inventory management, and freight.
Assist with client-facing activities related to product requests, shipments and invoices.
