Tyson Foods, Inc. in Dakota City seeks a maintenance technician to maintain and repair company assets across the local complex. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, read instructions, and follow work orders while adhering to Tyson policies.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, with welding experience preferred. Expect 5–6 day work weeks with possible weekends and holidays, and strong communication across teams.

Maintenance Description

Maintenance personnel are assigned to a department within the Dakota City complex. They are responsible for maintaining and repairing all company assets while ensuring a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

Work in a fast-paced environment. Develop skills and knowledge of the assigned area and the equipment maintained. Work in various conditions, including cold, damp, hot, humid, and outdoor environments.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined.
• Welding experience preferred but not necessary.
• Must complete an 8-level maintenance training course within an allotted time frame.
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and using stairs and ladders.
• Maintenance schedules will be 5 to 6 days a week, following either a production or rotating schedule, which may include weekends and major holidays.
• Must have the necessary communication skills/ ability to understand instructions received via radio, the ability to read and comprehend written and verbal machine instructions, /work orders, and to correctly complete all job-related paperwork.
• Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels.
• All job offers are contingent upon providing proof of authorization to work legally in the United States and passing a urinalysis as part of the post-offer health assessment.
• MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR MECHANIC WORK EXPERIENCE DOCUMENTED IN THE WORK HISTORY SECTION OF APLICATION OR BE A GRADUATE OF AN INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE TRAINING PROGRAM.(CAN BE COMBINATION OF EXPLOYERS AS LONG AS EXPERIENCE IS AT LEAST 1 YEAR)
• Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson have minimum waiting period of 180 days and a 3-time employment limit for this location.
