Job summary

Alta Genetics is seeking an AI Technician to support our dairy customers with AI and heat detection services. This hands-on, field-based role requires experience in bovine reproduction and a passion for progressive dairy operations.

You will work with Alta teams and farm staff to ensure breeding schedules and protocols are followed across assigned dairies. Responsibilities include performing heat detection, AI, health assessments, data documentation, and on-farm collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience in bovine reproduction and AI.
• Ability to follow precise protocols and farm procedures.
• Strong on-farm communication and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Perform heat detection and AI on dairy cattle per schedules and synchronization programs.
• Assess animal health and breeding readiness with proper biosecurity and welfare practices.
• Document breeding activity and data using farm software or required tools.
• Maintain relationships with farm staff and Alta team to meet breeding priorities.
• Follow farm procedures and identify opportunities to improve reproductive protocols or efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Alta Technician Team Leader to provide coverage and support.
• Maintain reliable attendance, including weekend rotations, and keep AI equipment ready.
