Job summary

California Dairies, Inc. (CDI) invites applications for a Q.A. Technician at our Visalia plant. You will perform analytical and microbiological evaluations on milk and butter products, supporting production and process controls to ensure quality and safety.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Dairy Science, Microbiology, Food Science, or Chemistry or 5+ years in dairy labs, plus GMP knowledge, strong attention to detail, and teamwork. Safety training and proper PPE usage are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Dairy Science, Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry or related field, or minimum 5 years of relevant dairy lab experience.
• Must read GMPs and follow safety procedures.
• Must work safely and follow safety rules and procedures.
• Must work well with others and demonstrate good judgement.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests such as moisture, fat, pH, total solids, titratable acidity, salt, and conductivity.
• Conduct bacteriological testing: total plate count, yeast/mold, coliform, environmental and air monitoring.
• Confirm presumptive antibiotic loads using Charm II and confirm Beta Lactams on Charm S/L.
• Set up, operate, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment; input data.
• Maintain confidentiality of results and keep a clean, organized workspace.
• Assist in training new laboratory personnel and cross-train lab techs.
