Job summary

Byrne is a Central New York-based dairy company seeking a Production Supervisor to plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources for processing Extended Shelf Life (ESL) products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications at the Cortland, NY facility.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, preferably in dairy, and a GED or higher; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum GED or High School Diploma is required, associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years direct manufacturing experience; dairy industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets all production operational plans to ensure goals and efficiency requirements are met.
• Monitors conditions that have or will adversely affect production lines and informs senior shift leadership.
• Monitors status of production lines and coordinates maintenance to avoid delays.
• Ensures all required documentation is completed, signed off, and legible.
• Notifies of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and identify improvements.
• Complies with GMPs, SOPs, policies, rules and regulations.
• Communicates effectively between shifts and other departments, verbally and in writing.
• Communicates with plant leadership about potential or existing problems affecting schedules or customer satisfaction.
• Covers breaks and staffing needs as assigned by supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with dairy processing safety regulations and reports concerns.
• Oversees training of production personnel on equipment and systems.
• Audits production work for accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
• Supports interviewing and selection of production staff and conducts performance evaluations.
