Job summary

Maintenance Mechanic role at Byrne in Cortland, NY. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on dairy processing equipment, including pasteurizers and packaging lines, while ensuring safety and uptime.

Qualifications

• GED or High School diploma preferred.
• 2–3 years’ experience in the mechanical field.
• Experience with VFDs, conveyors, pumps and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on dairy processing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues with tools and meters.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with production teams.
• Install and calibrate instrumentation and control systems for accurate monitoring.
• Inspect facility systems (steam, chillers, compressed air) and address issues proactively.
• Maintain maintenance records in CMMS and schedule work with minimal disruption.
