Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) seeks a Plant Manager to lead operations across dairy processing facilities in the Midwest. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency to meet production deadlines.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in food science/manufacturing or management, with 5+ years dairy/food production experience and 3+ years supervisory tenure. Travel may be required; ERP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, manufacturing or similar areas preferred.
• Five years’ experience in dairy or food production, manufacturing, industrial process operations or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements preferred.
• Three years of supervisory experience required.
• Experience with Oracle ERP or other ERP systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP's, OSHA and loss control programs is highly desirable.
• Maintain a valid drivers’ license and must be able to travel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant operations and supervise staff to ensure safe, efficient production.
• Monitor quality specifications for milk, whey, and cheese production, aligning with customer expectations.
• Develop and maintain production records and charts.
• Lead and audit SQF, GMP, food safety policies; address nonconformities.
• Manage budgets, cost saving measures, and profitability considerations.
• Coordinate with departments to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Be on call as needed, including nights and weekends.
• Adhere to all safety and quality policies and procedures.
