Job summary

SMC Management Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support dairy production and packaging facilities by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment. The role focuses on keeping machinery running safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and preserve product quality.

Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and collaborate with production and quality teams to meet schedules and standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, food processing, or similar environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Familiarity with PLCs, control systems, and automated equipment.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying environments (cold, wet, or hot).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on processing, filling, refrigeration, and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to support production schedules.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment documentation.
• Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
• Monitor systems such as boilers, compressors, and refrigeration units.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety protocols in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to support operational needs.
• Participate in on-call rotations or overtime as required.
