Job summary

South Mountain Creamery is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support dairy production and packaging equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, read schematics, and document work orders to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or food processing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Familiarity with PLCs and automated equipment.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold, wet, or hot environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on processing, filling, refrigeration, and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests to support production schedules.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment documentation.
• Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
• Monitor systems such as boilers, compressors, and refrigeration units.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety protocols in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to support operational needs.
• Participate in on-call rotations or overtime as required.

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in supporting plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment across our dairy production and packaging facilities. This individual ensures that machinery runs safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.

Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm
