Job summary

HP Hood, a leading dairy and beverage manufacturer in the United States, is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician to assist with sampling, testing and basic quality control for both dairy and non-dairy products. This role supports the lab in pulling samples, recording data accurately and ensuring on-line quality is monitored.

The position emphasizes adherence to GMP and HACCP, learning testing protocols, and working closely with line staff and other lab personnel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Science training and/or dairy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food standards and handling, HACCP, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pull required samples in established time periods to help identify on-line issues.
• Verify product meets specifications (codes, packaging, leaks) and alert appropriate staff of deviations.
• Run and interpret tests (pH/TA, temperature, appearance, weights, shelf life, microbiology prep and incubations, etc.).
• Maintain clean, organized lab and rack systems; set up incubator/carts before shifts start.
• Participate in team processes to identify improvements within the lab and plant.
