Job summary

ABS Global, a Genus Company, seeks a Genetic Data Applications Intern to join the Dairy Product Development Team in DeForest, WI. The role provides hands-on experience with data pipelines, analytics, and genetic program development, collaborating with PhD-level specialists.

Expect 40 hours per week during standard hours with possibilities of after-hours work. The internship offers competitive hourly compensation and potential for future opportunities within Genus after completion.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD student in Animal Science, Plant Science, Quantitative Genetics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills with familiarity with statistical packages (R, Python).
• Available for at least 12 weeks during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Use statistical and analytic tools to complete data mining, data pipeline development, and data analysis.
• Conduct experiment design and investigate new models or methods.
• Generate information to inform genetic strategies and genetic program development.
• Uphold Genus core values and mission.
• Position may require working outside of normal business hours.
• Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
