Vallarta Supermarkets in Duarte, CA is seeking a Dairy/Deli/Frozen (DDF) Manager to direct daily operations, drive sales, and lead a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences in a fast-paced setting. You will forecast, control expenses, ensure food safety, and mentor clerks and staff to meet performance standards.

The role requires 2–3 years of retail management in dairy/deli/frozen and a solid grasp of merchandising, vendor relations, and core computer tools.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of retail management or supervisory experience in dairy, deli, or frozen preferred.
• Knowledge of grocery operations, merchandising, and vendor relations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to forecast sales, manage labor, and control expenses.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and workplace safety.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise dairy, deli, and frozen departments to meet sales and quality goals.
• Model extraordinary customer service and assist with questions and purchases.
• Develop team through training, evaluations, and mentoring for growth.
• Forecast sales, manage schedules, and control department expenses.
• Ensure shelves are stocked, displays are attractive, and signage is accurate.
• Promote safety programs and maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
• Conduct inventory checks, audits, and loss-prevention activities.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with store leadership on priorities.
