Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering product questions.
• Acquire knowledge of department products and respond to inquiries with recommendations.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they ordered.
• Recommend dairy items to meet customer needs.
• Check product quality and monitor sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude at work.
• Stay updated with current ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperature in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
• Enforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report repair needs.
• Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
• Report safety risks, theft or fraud as needed.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a calm, cooperative manner.
• Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Assist in serving minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
