Job description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Responsibilities

1. Promote trust and respect among associates.
2. Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
3. Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
4. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
5. Inform customers of dairy specials.
6. Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered.
7. Recommend dairy items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
8. Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
9. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
10. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
11. Display a positive attitude.
12. Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
13. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
14. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
15. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, notifying store management.
16. Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of repairs needed.
17. Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
18. Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activities, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
19. Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
20. Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
21. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
22. Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
23. Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
24. Perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
