Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Dairy Department Associate who delivers outstanding service and keeps the store clean and safe. You will assist the department manager in meeting sales goals and uphold quality, safety, and basic math accuracy in daily tasks.

You will greet customers, answer questions about products, stock shelves, check sell-by dates, promote dairy specials, and maintain temperatures and safety logs.

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.

• Recommend dairy items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell by dates and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.

• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.

• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notify management of items in need of repair.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Report all safety risks and illegal activity.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
