Position Overview

Sidwell Friends School seeks a per diem Daily Substitute Teacher for our Middle School division in all subjects for grades 5–8. Qualified applicants must hold a relevant college degree, have experience working with children, and be certified in CPR/First Aid. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in using digital and online platforms for both in-person and remote instruction.

Job Responsibilities

• Cover classes when the regular teacher is absent or unavailable.
• Deliver lessons and lectures in an organized and effective manner.
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Qualifications

• Relevant college degree and/or experience working with middle school-aged children.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule

• Must be available during school hours, which are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
