Job summary

Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy in Stamford, CT, seeks a part-time student transportation driver for the 2026-2027 school year. Vehicle provided is a Chevy Express 14-passenger van.

Runs generally 6:30 am to 8 am and 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm Monday - Thursday, and 6:30 am - 8 am and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm on Fridays. 30 hours guaranteed weekly. Must have a V endorsement and be at least 27 with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Must have a V endorsement on Connecticut license in good standing.
• Must be at least 27 years old with a clean driving record and able to pass a DOT physical, DMV/DCF background check & drug test.
• Minimum 3 years experience.
• Conduct a daily pre-trip inspection of the assigned vehicle.
• Maintain a record of stop times and report incidents related to transporting children.
• Ensure students are safely secured in the seat at all times.
• Maintain an organized and clean vehicle for a healthy environment.

Responsibilities

• Remain consistent with established stop times and route instructions.
• Be familiar with medical or behavioral concerns of each child and know action plans.
• Assist school personnel or parents upon arrival at school or home locations.
• Follow GPS directions and stay calm in stressful situations.
• Maintain an operating cell phone for emergency purposes while transporting.

Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy, a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 independent school, is immediately seeking a part time student transportation driver for the 2026-2027 school year. Must have a V or S endorsement on license.

Can guarantee 30 hours a week even though actual driving time is less (generally 6:30 am to 8 am and 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm, Monday - Thursday, and 6:30 am - 8 am and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm on Fridays). School vehicle provided is a Chevy Express 14 passenger van, 2018.

Experience and Preferred Qualifications:

• V Endorsement on your current Connecticut driver license (required) in good standing

• Must be at least 27 years of age with a clean driver's record and able to pass a DOT physical, DMV/DCF background check & drug test

• Minimum 3 years experience

• Conduct a daily pre-trip inspection of the assigned vehicle

• Remain consistent with established stop times and general route instructions; maintain an accurate record of stop times, document and report incidents pertaining to the transportation of children

• Ensure that students are safely secured in the seat at all times during transport

• Maintain an operating cell phone for emergency purposes whenever a student is being transported

• Be familiar with specific medical challenges or other behavioral concerns relative to each child and be knowledgeable of an action plan in the event of an occurrence during transport; maintain an awareness of each student during transport, and be familiar with strategies that can be used to influence positive bus behavior by the children

• Assist school personnel or parents and/or the child upon arrival at school or home locations as necessary

• Maintain an organized and clean vehicle to promote a healthy environment for the children

• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

• Ability to follow GPS directions

Compensation and Benefits:

Approximately $40/hr, Paid time off
