Job summary

Beauvoir, The National Cathedral Elementary School in Washington, D.C., seeks qualified individuals to serve as short- and long-term guest teachers across infants/toddlers in the Early Learning Center and pre-K–3rd grade during teacher absences.

Guest teachers are also assigned to co-curricular specials (computer science, library media science, performing arts, PE, science, Spanish, STEAM, and visual arts). On-site interviews and background checks are required as per DC law.

Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience with children in the elementary years is preferred.
• Interviews will be conducted on site and all successful candidates must pass a criminal background check and health form per DC law.
• Additional requirements for infant/toddler and pre-kindergarten classes outlined by OSSE.

Responsibilities

• Guest teachers are assigned to infants/toddlers in the Early Learning Center and to pre-kindergarten through third grade classes during teacher absences.
• Guest teachers also teach or supervise co-curricular specials classes including computer science, library media science, performing arts, physical education, science, Spanish, S.T.E.A.M., and visual arts.

Beauvoir, The National Cathedral Elementary School, an independent co-educational primary school located in Washington, D.C., presently seeks qualified individuals to serve as short- and long-term guest teachers. During the academic year, guest teachers are assigned to classes serving infants and toddlers in our Early Learning Center and pre-kindergarten through third grade students in the event of teacher absence. Guest teachers are also assigned to co-curricular specials classes including computer science, library media science, performing arts, physical education, science, Spanish, S.T.E.A.M., and visual arts.

Hourly Rate: $26.00

Required Skills and Experience

Prior teaching experience with children in the elementary years is preferred. Interviews will be conducted on site and all successful candidates must pass a criminal background check and submit a completed health form in accordance with District of Columbia law. Please note that there are additional requirements for Guest Teachers working with students in infant/toddler and pre-kindergarten classes, as outlined by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education.
