Job summary

The City of New York’s Administration for Children’s Services seeks a District Attorney Liaison to coordinate between ACS and law enforcement on high‑risk child protection cases. The role is based on Staten Island and requires permanent CPSS status, with responsibilities spanning MOU compliance and information sharing with DA, NYPD, and other agencies.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and 30 semester credits toward a Master of Social Work degree or toward a graduate degree in a related field.
• Eighteen months of child protective casework experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with the MOU.
• Provides requested case-specific information to the DA Office and NYPD.
• Facilitates ongoing communications between ACS and the District Attorney.
• Processes clearances requested by the DA Office and NYPD, routing through the borough office.
• Receives DA “Decline to Prosecute” notices and distributes to unit supervisors.
• Receives subpoenas and submits requested information to the DA in a timely fashion.
• Shares information with the Department of Probation and State Division of Parole where permitted.
• Tracks information on standardized logs for all cases sent to the DA/NYPD and items 30-day status updates.
• Participates in meetings to review compliance with MOU and IRT protocol.

Education
