About the Role
We are looking for an experienced ERP Application Manager with deep, hands-on expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in a manufacturing environment. This is not an implementation role — we have a live BC environment and we need someone who knows how to run it, support it, and continuously improve it.
You will be the connective tissue between our shop floor operations, finance team, and executive leadership — someone who can troubleshoot a posting error with an operator in the morning and walk a CFO through a costing variance in the afternoon. You bring both technical BC depth and a genuine understanding of how manufacturing businesses actually work.
This role requires on-site presence at our headquarters for the first 90 days to get embedded in our operations, workflows, and team. After that, the role transitions to fully remote.
What You’ll Do
- Own and manage the day-to-day operation, support, and continuous improvement of our live Dynamics 365 Business Central environment
- Support manufacturing operations including production orders, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, work centers, and capacity planning
- Manage inventory costing processes, troubleshoot costing variances, and support month-end and year-end close activities in partnership with the finance team
- Serve as the primary point of contact for BC-related issues across the shop floor, operations, and finance — triaging, diagnosing, and resolving system issues quickly
- Translate business requirements from operational and finance stakeholders into BC configurations, process improvements, or escalations to partners
- Support multi-site operations ensuring consistency, accuracy, and appropriate configuration across all locations
- Manage BC user access, master data integrity, and system health across the environment
- Partner with external BC consultants or Microsoft partners when additional development or configuration support is needed
- Document processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures to support system governance and knowledge transfer
- Identify opportunities to improve system utilization, eliminate workarounds, and drive adoption of BC best practices across the organization
Required Qualifications
- Substantial hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central in a manufacturing environment — this is a non-negotiable requirement
- Deep functional knowledge of BC manufacturing modules: production orders, BOMs, routings, work centers, and capacity planning
- Strong understanding of inventory costing methods and the ability to identify, explain, and resolve costing variances
- Experience supporting a live, post-go-live BC environment — not solely implementation or project work
- Multi-site or multi-location BC experience
- Strong grounding in finance and operational processes including month-end close, general ledger postings, and financial reporting
- Ability to communicate fluently across all levels of an organization — from shop floor operators to finance leadership to the executive team
- Willingness and availability to be on-site at our headquarters for the first 90 days
Nice to Have
- Microsoft certification in Dynamics 365 Business Central (MB-800 or equivalent)
- Experience with BC warehouse management and advanced warehousing features
- Familiarity with Power BI reporting connected to BC data
- Experience with BC partner or vendor management
