  • Basic office computer skills, word processing, email, and spreadsheets.
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s license; pass background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
  • HVAC/EPA Certified (PREFEREED) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier, and painting tasks.
  • Performs minor repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustment of locks on cabinets, locks, closets, desks.
  • Repairs door hinges, cleans plugged key slots, changes filters on ventilating, heating, and air conditioning units.
  • Services kitchen, appliances, and emergency equipment, reporting mechanical malfunctions to party for action.
  • Activates and deactivates building alarms and responds to alarm calls after and during regular work hours.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier, and painting tasks.
  • Performs minor repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustment of locks on cabinets, locks, closets, desks.
  • Repairs door hinges, cleans plugged key slots, changes filters on ventilating, heating, and air conditioning units.
  • Services kitchen, appliances, and emergency equipment, reporting mechanical malfunctions to party for action.
  • Exercises discretion to identify projects that need higher skilled crafts individual's services.
  • Assists in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as needed; annotates and updates work logs for specific site requirements.
  • Activates and deactivates building alarms and responds to alarm calls after and during regular work hours.
Qualifications.
  • High School Diploma or GED or some technical training experience.
  • Basic office computer skills, word processing, email, and spreadsheets
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s license
  • HVAC/EPA Certified (PREFEREED)
  • All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
  • Provide 2 Professional references (Former employers only, no family members).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee must be able to climb ladders and work in high, precarious places up to elevations of 20 feet.
Competencies:
  • Ability to drive and operate State owned motor vehicles.
  • Safely operate State vehicles and /or construction equipment in all weather conditions.
  • Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral form.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Follow orders and complete work assignments with a minimum of supervision.
  • Apply methods, practices, and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, repair, renovation, and minor construction of buildings and utilities.
  • Assist other trade personnel in their work.
  • Observe, record, and report unsafe working conditions.
  • Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools, and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics as they relate to buildings and utilities services systems.
  • Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools.
