Job summary

River Edge Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Peer Specialist in Macon, GA to provide paraprofessional social services, empathetic peer support, crisis intervention, and navigation assistance within the mental health system. You will collaborate with clinical teams to ensure coordinated care and maintain accurate documentation of services provided.

Certification is required; CPS certification or obtaining it within 12 months of hire, plus a related Bachelor's degree and supervisory

Qualifications

• Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification required; candidates without certification must obtain it within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Valid Georgia Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support informed by personal experience with mental health recovery.
• Offer guidance, encouragement, and practical advice to individuals engaging with the mental health system.
• Participate in treatment planning with clinical teams and support peers in addressing personal and social issues.
