Job summary

RJW Logistics Group is seeking a dedicated forklift operator to safely operate sit-down forklifts and EPJs, loading and unloading RJW trucks and outside carriers. You will maintain orderly warehouses, verify shipments, and perform daily forklift inspections.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and flexibility to handle overtime during peak periods. This is a full-time on-site position based in Forney, TX with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

3–6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks (EPJs).
High School Diploma or GED; warehousing certifications are a plus.
Must read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

Operate sit down forklift and EPJs safely and efficiently.
Load and unload RJW trucks and outside carriers.
Maintain orderly warehouse and proper stacking/housekeeping.
Record and verify shipments against paperwork for inbound/outbound shipments.
Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.
Spot trailers to maintain yard organization and equipment flow.

A Shift: Sun-Wed 5am-330pm
B Shift: Wed-Sat 5am-330pm
C Shift: M/Tu/Th/F 5am-330pm

2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 4pm-1230am
D Shift: Sun-Wed 4pm-1230am
E Shift: Tues-Fri 4pm-1230am
F Shift: Su/M/Th/F 4pm-1230am

Compensation: Starting pay rate is $20-$23/hour. You will receive quarterly $0.50 per hour step increases during your first year of employment bringing the pay rate to [starting rate + $2] by the end of your first year at RJW.

Job Purpose

To operate forklifts safely and efficiently; handles all freight inbound or outbound properly and orderly; maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping; loading / unloading of RJW truck / trailers and outside carriers safely and using proper procedures; ensures all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly; responsible for properly storing stock in the warehouse; performs duties to provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving handling activities. Works from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers. Maintains forklift safety at all times following all safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
Ability to operate sit down forklift and /or EPJs.
General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
Loads and unloads RJW truck / trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carriers equipment.
Flexible to work 10 to 12 hours shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.
Picking and moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
Ensures all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
Maintains warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
Processing outbound cross‑dock freight as necessary.
Oversees storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into the storage racks.
Works from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers.
Records and verifies the accuracy of the shipments against the paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments / deliveries.
Ensures all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
Operates forklifts safely and efficiently following all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.
Completes daily forklift maintenance inspections.
Handles all customer products properly and orderly.
Checks deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage. Alerts Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.
Reports all accidents / incidents, to employee, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.
Maintains access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility keeping them free of debris or snow.
Other tasks as assigned by manager.
Includes wearing of seatbelts at all times when operating the forklift.

Additional Responsibilities

Possesses a sense of urgency, accountability, and be able to work with limited supervision.
General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
He/she must be able to read, write, and understand English.
Attention to detail and quality a must.
Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts.
PC skills helpful.
Major experience on sit down forklifts/EPJs.
Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
Experience in cross docking freight process.
Ability to work in a fast paced warehouse.
