Job summary

Athena Coding is seeking an instructor in California to lead a weekly 6th–8th grade class on Wednesday mornings from 8:00 to 9:30 AM. The first session runs Sept 2 through Oct 14, with $75 per class compensation.

All curriculum and materials are provided, and training is offered before starting, with access to in-person and remote support throughout the program. The organization offers enrichment in Dungeons & Dragons, coding, art, science, and chess, and more information is available at

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience working with children strongly preferred.
• An upbeat, empathetic, and energetic personality is desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of approximately 5–20 students while ensuring they are safe, engaged, and having fun
• Facilitate Athena Coding’s provided lessons and activities
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment
• Help students participate, collaborate, and stay engaged throughout class
