Job summary

Togetherhood seeks dynamic instructors to teach D&D to K-12 students at schools and communities across Washington DC. Opportunities range 6 to 18 weeks as after-school roles, contracted as 1099 work.

You will conceive age-appropriate curricula, create memorable experiences to foster storytelling, collaboration, and imagination; arrive on time with a solid lesson plan; and help kids see why role-playing can be transformative.

Qualifications

• A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor with experience teaching school age children.
• Has excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learning.
• Knows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you teach.
• Is cooperative, supportive, flexible.
• Is dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy … and also appreciates support and clear expectations.

Responsibilities

• Conceive of and create an age-appropriate curriculum for your class.
• Create memorable experience for the children in your class to help them grow and develop a passion for storytelling, collaboration, gaming, and D&D.
• Consistently arrive at your class on time (or early!), prepared with the lesson plan for the day.
• Help children understand why your role playing games are so wonderful and how it’s helped shape you as a person.
