Job summary

Hasbro's Wizards of the Coast in Renton, Washington seeks an Associate Game Designer to craft D&D content. You will design monsters, items, and spells, incorporate player feedback, and help prepare products for publication in collaboration with a cross-functional team.

Requires 1+ year in tabletop game design, strong writing and narrative skills, and solid knowledge of 5e rules. A hybrid role with in-office days Tue–Thu is offered, alongside opportunities to grow within the brand.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in tabletop game design.
• Ability to translate designs from ideas to final implementation.
• Comfort working in Confluence and version-controlled design environments.
• Strong creative writing, storytelling, and technical design skills.
• Strong familiarity with Dungeons & Dragons and proficiency in the fifth edition rules.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of D&D game mechanics, balance considerations, and modular design.
• Solid technical writing and editorial skills with attention to detail.
• Strong time/project management and multitasking abilities.
• Curiosity, enthusiasm, and genuine love of games.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop portions of D&D products—especially monsters, items, and spells.
• Analyze and incorporate player feedback to craft content.
• Assist in preparing products for publication.
• Contribute to design documentation and research.
• Review material for balance, clarity, consistency, and player enjoyment.
• Brainstorm themes, stories, encounters, and design elements for narrative gameplay.
• Participate as an active, cross-functional team member with artists, editors, and producers.
