Additionally, you will work collaboratively with others to address health disparities in research.* Research projects in this field often require a multidisciplinary approach, combining genomics, epidemiology, bioinformatics, and social sciences to comprehensively analyze the complex contributing factors to health disparities.* As part of your research, you may work with large-scale genomic datasets, such as genome-wide association studies (GWAS), next-generation sequencing data, or electronic health records, to identify genetic variants or biomarkers that may be associated with health disparities.* In addition to your research responsibilities, you may be assigned other related duties as needed.* Like other postdoctoral positions, the typical duration of a postdoctoral position in genomics and health disparities ranges from one to three years, depending on performance and renewal of funding.* During this time, you are expected to advance your research skills, publish your work, and build a strong foundation for your future career.* Participate actively and communicate effectively in a leadership role during lab/group meetings, seminars, and scientific conferences. Coordinate on-site and virtual meetings/lectures as needed.CORE COMPETENCIES:* Manage time and project(s) well with personal initiative. Mentor trainees and perform job-related administrative tasks as assigned.* Travel as needed to collaborate on project objectives.* Write well scientifically, including in the preparation of regular reports, manuscripts for publication, and grant proposals.* Organize seminars and lecture series for the project and for the wider NHGC and QBL communities.* Be responsive to communications from the PI and able to take direction.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field such as genomics, genetics, molecular biology, ecology, bioinformatics, public health, microbiology, biophysics, quantum biology, or a related discipline.
