Candidates must hold a NYSED Cytotechnologist license, a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, and prefer 2–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
• Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Cytotechnologist.
• Minimum of 2–5 years’ work experience preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares non-GYN and GYN specimens for evaluation following established protocols.
• Attends FNA procedures off-site and evaluates specimen adequacy.
• Screens slides under a microscope to identify cellular changes and provides preliminary diagnoses.
• Reviews quality control and patient results to ensure timely reporting to clinicians.
• Maintains clean and safe work environment and adheres to safety standards.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
