Job summary

NYU Langone Health invites applications for a Cytology Technologist to screen, evaluate, and interpret cytology specimens at multiple sites in a fast-paced laboratory. The role includes assisting during Fine Needle Aspiration procedures, maintaining instrumentation, and upholding quality control standards.

Qualified candidates will be licensed cytotechnologists with NYSDOH registration and a biology/chemistry or clinical lab degree, plus relevant cytology experience and strong communication

Qualifications

• Licensed as Cytotechnologist per NYSDOH or hold CLT permit leading to license.
• Cytotechnologist Registration with NYSDOH DOH.
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or biology/chemistry/physical sciences with NY license pathway.

Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate and interpret cytology specimens with timely accuracy.
• Assist during FNA procedures for on-site assessment and preparation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot cytology instrumentation and LIS systems.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance.
• Document hours and slides, coordinate with supervisors and pathologists.
