Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA in Hawaii is seeking a Cytotechnologist to examine prepared slides under a microscope, report abnormal findings, and support patient care within a fast-paced laboratory.

The role requires graduation from an accredited cytology program, cytotechnologist certification by ASCP, strong reading, writing and analytical skills, and the ability to operate common lab equipment. Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of cytology
• Cytotechnologist certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
• New graduates from an accredited Cytology program will be considered
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Examine prepared slides with the microscope to detect abnormalities
• Use diagnostic codes to report negative cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for review
• Keep records of work performed daily
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
