Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Cytotechnologist to screen and report cytology specimens, assist in quality control, and train Cytotechnology students. The role includes participation in advanced analyses such as digital imaging, FISH, and tissue review, and on-site adequacy evaluations with the FNA team.

The position requires a Cytotechnology degree or equivalent, CT/SCT certification, and strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or Bachelor's degree with completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program.
Requires experience using databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
Possess good written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects.
Cytologist (CT, ASCP) or Specialist in Cytology (SCT, ASCP) certification required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

Screen and report negative gynecological and non-gynecological cytology cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists.
May perform quality control activities and assist in training cytotechnology students.
Participate in activities such as digital image analysis, FISH techniques, and/or tissue review as assigned.
Serve on the FNA Team providing on-site adequacy evaluation and support during short-staffing periods.
