Job summary

The Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) invites applications for a faculty position in the division of Anatomic Pathology with preferred fellowship in Cytopathology. You will be part of a rapidly growing academic subspecialty-based practice, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

The ideal candidate will be an MD/DO, certified or eligible for certification in AP or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO required, certified or eligible in AP or AP/CP by the ABP.
  • Fellowship training in cytopathology preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic skills in cytopathology with ability to participate in ROSE and ultrasound-guided FNA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cytopathology consultations and rapid on-site evaluations (ROSE).
  • Conduct ultrasound-guided superficial fine-needle aspirations.
  • Participate in a subspecialty-based academic practice and develop a funded research program.

Job description

The Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) invites applications for a faculty position in the division of Anatomic Pathology with preferred fellowship in Cytopathology. You will be part of a rapidly growing academic subspecialty-based practice, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

The ideal candidate will be an MD/DO, MD/PhD, PhD (or equivalent) who is certified or eligible for certification in AP or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology. Fellowship training in cytopathology is preferred. The candidate should possess strong diagnostic skills in cytopathology and will have the opportunity to participate in rapid on-site evaluation as well as ultrasound-guided superficial fine needle aspiration procedures.
