Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.

  • Commitment to academic pathology, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens.

  • Contribute to laboratory quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribution to laboratory quality improvement and service development initiatives.
  • Teaching and mentorship of residents, fellows, and medical students.

Overview

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Dartmouth Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Cytopathologist to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to practice in an academic medical center with a diverse and complex case mix while contributing to the institution’s missions of clinical excellence, education, and research. Cytopathology-boarded candidates with another subspecialty surgical pathology interest are encouraged to apply.

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Interpretation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens
  • Performance and interpretation of fine-needle aspiration (FNA) procedures, including rapid on-site and digital remote adequacy assessment
  • Participation in surgical pathology services consistent with training and interests, if applicable
  • Active involvement in multidisciplinary conferences
  • Contribution to laboratory quality improvement and service development initiatives
Academic Responsibilities
  • Teaching and mentorship of pathology residents, fellows, and medical students
  • Opportunities to pursue clinical, translational, or educational research aligned with candidate career development
  • Scholarly activity supported through departmental and institutional resources
