Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a team member to assist the anatomic pathology lab with accessioning specimens for cytology and surgical pathology, and to perform preliminary processing for further workup. This role also triages specimens, maintains essential lab equipment, and restocks supplies to support smooth operations.

The incumbent will resolve routine issues independently, handle miscellaneous tasks within the department, and follow all policies.

Responsibilities

• Accessions specimens for cytology and/or surgical pathology.
• Performs specimen processing for further workup in the anatomic pathology laboratory.
• Triages specimens within the department.
• Maintains equipment, re-stocks supplies and reagents.
• Able to resolve problem cases independently.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks within the department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
