Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management in Cleveland seeks an assistant to support the anatomic pathology lab with pre-analytic, analytic, and support functions.

You will access specimens for cytology or surgical pathology, process them for further workup, triage specimens, maintain equipment and supplies, recognize and resolve problems, and perform miscellaneous maintenance tasks within the department, all while protecting PHI and following UH policies.

• Performs specimen processing for further workup in the anatomic pathology laboratory.
• Triages specimens within the department.
• Maintains equipment, re-stocks supplies and reagents.
• Recognition and preliminary resolution of problem cases.
• Performs miscellaneous maintenance tasks within the department.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
