Job summary

Regions Hospital in St Paul, Minnesota is seeking a Cytologist to join our laboratory team. The role performs cytological analysis of benign and malignant conditions, ensuring quality results and accurate reporting.

Requires a bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or allied health sciences and CAHEA or ASCP-approved training; ASCP certification or eligible is required with CMP if applicable. Two years as a cytotechnologist may substitute for education and help advance our clinical excellence.

As The Cytologist You Will • Perform cytological analysis of benign and malignant conditions. • Identify unusual findings including insufficiency in the preparations. • Perform related duties as assigned. Work Schedule • FTE: 1.0 (40 Hrs. Weekly) • Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or allied health sciences including Chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology, etc. and successful completion of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) or ASCP approved School of Cytotechnology. Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: ASCP board certification or eligible. Two (2) years of Cytotechnology work experience within the last five- (5) years may substitute for the educational qualifications. Must be certified within one year of hire. If ASCP certified after 2004, must participate in the Certificate of Maintenance Program (CMP). Preferred Qualifications Experience: Three years of experience as a cytotechnologist in a CLIA accredited laboratory. Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: ASCP certification and completion of a CLIA approved proficiency test taken within the year of hire.
