Cytogenetics Technologist - Relocate to sunny Florida!

Job Details:

Growing cancer research organization seeks ASCP certified Cytotechnologist. Day shift available. Sign-on & Relocation assistance available!

Salary: $61,000 - $104,000 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Perform highly complex laboratory testing procedures.
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing.
  • Prepare clinical specimens and identify specimen-related problems.
  • Analyze specimens and review and release test results.
  • Prepare stock solutions, reagents, and cocktails used in the laboratory.
  • Document all observations and corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
  • Demonstrate initiative in making suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain laboratory in a clean, functional state, including equipment maintenance/calibration/certification.
  • Participate in continuing education.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Cytogenetics from an accredited college or university preferred OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences with at least one year of laboratory experience.

Qualification Requirements:

  • ASCP license in Cytology and current Florida Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license required (will consider those eligible for licensure in FL).
  • Nationally ASCP CG Required.
  • FL State Laboratory Personnel License or Eligibility required.
