Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare biological specimens for cytogenetic analyses from tissues (blood, bone marrow, amniotic fluid, solid tissue) using sterile techniques.
• Culture cells using appropriate media and monitor growth.
• Harvest cell cultures and prepare slides using banding techniques.
• Analyze chromosome preparations and prepare karyotypes; summarize results for reports.
