Job summary

TTUHSC in Lubbock is seeking a qualified genetic cytogenetics technician to prepare, examine, and analyze chromosomes in clinical specimens to aid in diagnosis and treatment of genetic diseases.

The role involves FISH analysis, tissue culture, slide staining, and report preparation; a bachelor’s degree is required with at least one year of laboratory experience, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology or related field.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience.
• Experience in genetics lab preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in FISH wet lab and FISH analysis using microscope and probes.
• Receives, records, organizes and processes clinical specimens accurately.
• Performs tissue culture on specimens using cytogenetic protocols.
• Slide preparation and staining using G-banding techniques.
