Qualifications

• Must qualify as testing personnel performing high complexity testing as defined by CLIA.
• 4-year bachelor’s degree.
• Three or more years of experience as a genetics technologist.
• ASCP certification in cytogenetics, molecular biology, or medical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedures for genetic/genomic tests with focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Documents processes, quality control, and equipment maintenance; verify patient identity and test information.
• Communicates with internal/external clients; supports training of technical staff.
• Monitors productivity, identifies quality improvements and potential cost savings; manages inventory to reduce waste.
