Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Florida is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for cytogenetics testing, including cell culture, FISH, and karyotyping. The start date depends on Florida license. Daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with on-call weekends.

You should be patient-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team. Candidates must have a Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology or related field, completion of a clinical training program, and Florida license; ASCP certification

Qualifications

• Must be capable of producing accurate results under time constraints and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess good communication skills and be able to work closely with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform STAT and routine moderately and highly complex clinical laboratory testing on biological specimens.
• Report valid and accurate patient results in a timely manner.
• Interact with physicians, nurses and other allied health professionals to coordinate testing and results.
• Participate in operational support activities to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.
• Must be able to obtain Florida License prior to start and work daytime hours with possible on-call weekends.

Education

Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field

ASCP(American Society of Clinical Pathologists) certification or equivalent preferred
