Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our Durham, NC facility. The role is 2nd shift, Tue–Sat, 1:00pm–9:30pm. Responsibilities include specimen acceptance, routine and complex testing, instrument maintenance, and reporting results to support patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or MLS, and 1 year of lab testing experience or MLS degree. ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• MLS degree or 1 year+ of clinical laboratory testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing per SOPs.
• Perform routine and complex testing procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventative maintenance and QC procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE usage.
