Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a PRN Cytogenetic Technologist (Part Time) in Lubbock to prepare, examine, and analyze chromosomes from specimens to aid in diagnosis of genetic diseases. Responsibilities include image analysis, karyogram generation, FISH, and ISCN-based reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field and at least one year of lab experience; preferred candidates have 2 years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology or related field; one year of laboratory experience.
• 2 years of related experience in a clinical setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform chromosome analysis using Leica Cytovision software including image analysis and karyograms.
• Perform FISH and fluorescence microscopy with Cytosure software and documentation.
• Review test requisitions and summarize results using ISCN nomenclature.
• Distinguish normal vs abnormal test results and document patient records.
